Fees and Exchange Rate Disclosure
1. Transparency & Pricing Philosophy
Paytali believes in complete pricing transparency. This Fees and Exchange Rate Disclosure ("Fee Disclosure") clearly outlines our platform fee structure, exchange rate formation mechanics, and third-party network charges applicable to peer-to-peer exchanges on the platform.
2. Platform Service Fee Schedule
Paytali does not charge currency buyers any platform trading fees. Platform fees are charged exclusively to liquidity merchants:
| User Role | Activity | Platform Fee | Debit Mechanism |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyer (Consumer) | Marketplace Order & Quick Match | 0.0% (Free) | None. Buyers pay only agreed exchange sum. |
| Merchant (Broker) | Completed Exchange Order | 1.0% of Order Value | Debited automatically from collateral deposit balance |
| Merchant | Collateral Deposit Top-Up | 0.0% | Free (gateway network fees may apply) |
| Merchant | Collateral Deposit Withdrawal | 0.0% + Bank Wire Cost | Debited from withdrawn amount at settlement |
3. Exchange Rate Mechanics
Market-Determined Rates: Exchange rates published on the Paytali Marketplace are set autonomously by individual merchant brokers based on prevailing supply, demand, and local liquidity costs. Paytali does not fix, mandate, or subsidize merchant rates.
Mid-Market Reference Benchmark: Paytali aggregates and displays an informational mid-market reference rate on order screens to help users evaluate merchant pricing competitiveness. This reference rate is for comparison only and does not represent an executable quote from Paytali.
Zero Hidden Spreads: When you execute a trade on Paytali, the rate displayed on the order confirmation screen is the exact rate of conversion. Paytali does not add undisclosed spreads, conversion markups, or currency rounding margins.
4. Third-Party Payment Rail Charges
Fiat currency transfers occur across third-party commercial banking, instant payment, and telecom mobile money systems. These external networks may levy their own standard fees:
- InstaPay Egypt: Currently free for retail transfers under CBE consumer guidelines; any future bank transfer fees are governed by the user's Egyptian bank;
- Nigerian Inter-Bank (NIP) Transfers: Standard commercial banking electronic transfer levy (NGN 10 to NGN 50 plus statutory stamp duty) charged directly by the sender's Nigerian commercial bank;
- Egyptian Telecom Cash Wallets (Vodafone / Orange / Etisalat Cash): Standard telecom cash-out withdrawal fees (typically 0.5% to 1.0% when withdrawing physical cash at local retail agent kiosks);
- Vetted Cairo Partner Cash-Out Stores: Over-the-counter cash collection at physical partner stores in Cairo or Alexandria may involve a small handling fee agreed between the store agent and merchant.
All external banking and network fees are the sole responsibility of the transacting party initiating the transfer or requesting cash collection.
