Understand an order’s status
Know what matched, paid, payout, complete, cancelled and disputed mean.
The status records the step reached by the order. A receipt screenshot, a countdown or a chat message is not a substitute for checking the real payment and current order state.
Read the lifecycle
- MATCHED: the order exists with a locked rate. If shown, follow Merchant Payment Account and the payment deadline.
- BUYER_PAID: payment proof has been submitted. It does not by itself prove a bank transfer has settled.
- MERCHANT_CONFIRMED_RECEIPT: the order has reached the merchant payout step. NGN-wallet-funded EGP orders reach this automatically.
- MERCHANT_PAID_OUT: the merchant has submitted payout proof. Check the actual receiving account before confirming.
- BUYER_CONFIRMED: receipt has been confirmed and the order is awaiting or passing through finalization.
- COMPLETE: the order is finalized. A rating can be submitted; normal in-order messaging is closed.
- CANCELLED: the order is closed without normal completion. Cancellation alone does not reverse an external bank transfer.
- DISPUTED: an issue has been raised for review. Keep evidence and follow support guidance.
What happens when a timer ends?
The payment countdown applies to orders still awaiting payment in MATCHED. A zero timer is not a receipt, refund or confirmation of cancellation. Refresh the order for its committed status. If you already paid, contact support with the transfer evidence instead of starting another payment.
If a status stays unchanged
Reopen the order to retrieve the latest result. An upload, provider confirmation or connection may have failed. Use the action appropriate to the shown status; never confirm a payment just to clear a pending screen.
